Our commitment

Axia Computer Systems Ltd is committed to reducing the environmental impact of our own operations and to helping our clients make their IT more sustainable. As a Watford-based managed service provider, we recognise that the technology sector has a responsibility to manage energy use, hardware lifecycles and electronic waste carefully. This policy sets out the practical steps we take, and continue to improve on, to operate as a responsible business.

Our operations

• Reducing energy consumption in our offices through efficient equipment, LED lighting and sensible power-management settings.
• Minimising business travel by using remote support, video conferencing and proactive monitoring wherever practical.
• Operating a paper-light office, defaulting to digital documentation, duplex printing and recycling where printing is necessary.
• Recycling office waste responsibly and reducing single-use consumables.

Procurement and suppliers

• Favouring energy-efficient hardware and equipment with recognised efficiency ratings.
• Choosing manufacturers and distributors with credible environmental and sustainability commitments.
• Specifying equipment sized appropriately for the task to avoid over-provisioning and unnecessary power draw.

Responsible disposal and e-waste

• Disposing of redundant IT equipment in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.
• Prioritising reuse and refurbishment of equipment before recycling, and securely wiping data before any device leaves our care.
• Working with certified, compliant recycling partners and providing disposal documentation where required.

Helping our clients be more sustainable

• Recommending cloud and virtualisation solutions that consolidate hardware and improve energy efficiency.
• Designing infrastructure that is right-sized, resilient and power-efficient.
• Advising on managed print, remote working and device lifecycle strategies that reduce waste and consumption.
