Our commitment

Axia Computer Systems Ltd recognises that our activities have an effect on the environment and we are committed to managing those impacts responsibly. We aim to minimise the environmental footprint of our operations, comply with all relevant environmental legislation, and continually improve our environmental performance. This policy applies to everyone working for, or on behalf of, the company.

Our objectives

• Comply with all applicable environmental laws, regulations and approved codes of practice.
• Prevent pollution and reduce waste through careful management of our resources.
• Use energy, water and raw materials efficiently across our operations.
• Reduce, reuse and recycle wherever practical, and dispose of waste responsibly.
• Raise awareness of environmental responsibilities among our staff, suppliers and clients.

Energy and resources

• Operating energy-efficient equipment and switching off devices and lighting when not in use.
• Maintaining a paper-light office, defaulting to digital documents and duplex printing where printing is necessary.
• Reducing unnecessary business travel by using remote support, monitoring and video conferencing.

Waste and recycling

• Recycling paper, packaging and consumables wherever facilities allow.
• Disposing of electronic equipment in line with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations.
• Prioritising the reuse and refurbishment of IT equipment before recycling, with secure data destruction beforehand.

Working with clients and suppliers

We help our clients reduce their own environmental impact by recommending cloud and virtualisation solutions, right-sized infrastructure, managed print and remote-working strategies that lower energy use and waste. We favour suppliers and manufacturers with credible environmental commitments and energy-efficient products.

Monitoring and review
